Welcome to Tweedsmuir Park Lodge in the beautiful Bella Coola Valley
The historic Tweedsmuir Park Lodge, set on 60 acres of private land within the vast wilderness of British Columbia's largest protected park, is the ideal setting for your wilderness adventures and experiences. The surrounding environment is stunning. Rising above the valley floor are the majestic Coast Mountains, to the west is the largest fjord system in the Americas, and to the east is the high Chilcotin Plateau. All this is intersected by remote and lush valleys, home to the totemic wildlife of the Great Bear Rainforest and pristine river systems teeming with fish.
Originally built in 1929 as a hunting and fishing lodge, today the lodge serves both as a relaxing refuge from the pressures of city life, as well as the perfect base from which to explore the Bella Coola Valley. Our hope is that you will participate in one of our special Adventure Holiday programs and thus fully experience this dynamic environment.
After a big day in the outdoors you can visit our new spa facility and soak in the outdoor hot tub. Or relax on the lodge deck to sip on a beverage before dinner. The focus is on great service, and an authentic, welcoming Canadian hospitality.
All accommodation at the Lodge is in private chalets surrounding a great, central lawn. The maximum capacity is 18 adults. This is perfect for family reunions and corporate groups, which can book the full premises, yet intimate enough that the individual traveler and smaller groups will feel at home.
Although the lodge and the entire Bella Coola Valley are remote, it is nevertheless easy and convenient for travelers. There are daily flights in and out of Vancouver, and for those with more time to explore, we recommend a circle tour including the Discovery Coast ferry, several nights at our lodge, and then driving via the Freedom Highway, the Chilcotin Plateau, through Whistler, and back to Vancouver.
The beauty speaks for itself. Your expectations will be surpassed!
