2 | 1 Here are a few sample itineraries for helicopter sightseeing adventures that have been recommended by our chief pilot, Richard Lapoint. Richard has been flying in this region for many years. Hotsprings and giant old growth cedars adventure: $1800 plus taxes Rainbow sightseeing adventure: 1 hour and 24 minutes flying time - $3500 plus taxes Mt. Stupendous – Bella Coola airport. Hunlen sightseeing adventure: 1 hour and 12 minutes flying time- $3000 plus taxes Description: Depart from the Bella Coola airport and fly over the Bella Coola valley to the spectacular Hunlen Falls. From the falls we will fly the Turner Lake chain to the Talchako Glacier and then on to the Jacobson Glacier where guests may see small icebergs floating in the adjacent lake. A landing in this location is possible if time permits. From Ape Lake we will proceed to Mt. Stupendous for landing at 9,000 ft, weather permitting. Turner lakes sightseeing adventure: 1 hour flying time - $2500 plus taxes Route: Bella Coola airport - Tweedsmuir Lodge - Hunlen Falls - Talchako Glacier via the Turner Lake chain - Jacobson Glacier/Lake - Ape Lake - Bella Coola airport via the back end of the Noeick and Nusatsum River valleys. Description: Guests will have plenty of time to view the Bella Coola valley right up to Hunlen Falls in Tweedsmuir Provincial Park. The falls are spectacular when viewed from the helicopter, but remember we can not land in the park. From the falls we will fly the Turner Lake chain to the Talchako Glacier and then to the Jacobson Glacier. Our guests will find this portion of the flight the most memorable. Small icebergs may be viewed in the lake adjacent to the Jacobson Glacier. Landing in this location is possible and is always a favourite with our guests. The Ape Lake route to Bella Coola will also be a memorable one for all; from the massive glaciers, high alpine meadows to deep rocky canyons and more. Burnt Bridge sightseeing adventure: 48 minutes flying time - $2000 plus taxes Description: This flight gives a great view of the Rainbow Range and the Bella Coola valley. Desire Mountain sightseeing adventure: 42 minutes flying time - $1750 plus taxes Description: This trip includes a mountain landing at Nuxalk Mountain at 4,000 feet. This particular landing area is ideal as it offers our guests another incredible view of the Bella Coola valley. Snootli Creek sightseeing adventure: 36 minutes flying time - $1500 plus taxes Description: This is another scenic fligh and the Desire Mountain Glacier and waterfall are amazing. Mt. Saugstad sightseeing adventure: 18 minutes flying time - $750 plus taxes Description: Leave the Bella Coola airport and fly up Snootli Creek to the base of Mt. Saugstad. Fly over the lake and icefield at the base on the North side of Mt. Saugstad, then fly around the east side of Mt. Saugstad and return to the Bella Coola airport via the Nooklikonnick River with a landing at the top of Brekke Run at 6,700 ft weather permitting.
