Bella Coola Air was formed in 1996 by Wayne and Laurie Sissons. They are a small operation by choice, but maintain high standards of comfort and aircraft maintenance. They provide air transportation to all parts throughout the central coast of beautiful British Columbia. They are also fully licensed to operate within Tweedsmuir Provincial Park, the largest of B.C.'s several hundred parks.

Guided River Fishing or River Drifting If you have never experienced a river drift you are missing one of the most awe-inspiring ways to see the Bella Coola Valley in all its splendor. Travel down the ancient trade route, that Sir Alexander Mackenzie followed on his trek to the Pacific Ocean. To experience the Atnarko and the Bella Coola in all their glory, a raft or a drift are definitely recommended. The Atnarko and Bella Coola rivers are classified for non-motorized boats only. Drift boats, rafting, canoe and kayak are all highly recommended. Tubing does occur on the Atnarko and is growing in popularity. **Special Note: If you are taking a boat out on your own, please check with local operators for conditions and hazards such as logjams and trouble spots or contact us directly. We have drifted the Atnarko and Bella Coola system for many years and have much knowledge of the local history and geography. As you drift you can relax and view the Grizzly bears in their natural habitat as well as a vast array of wildlife along the way. We use the Mckenzie drift boats, an extremely comfortable and safe craft, built specifically for drifting. Your guide is highly regarded and a certified fishing guide with over 30 years of experience in the area. Though we do not guarantee you success, we can promise you a great day of drifting with These boats have no motor offering a great opportunity to photograph wildlife. Tours offered are half or full day adventures on the Atnarko River in the Bella Coola valley. See hundreds to thousands of Salmon in this crystal clear and calm river. Trips are organized and conducted by experienced river guides trained in biology. Wetsuits, mask, fins and snorkels are provided, as well as support raft. The Bella Coola native people, the Nuxalk, were the first occupants of this remote wilderness and early historical accounts tell of their trade with the natives of the Interior. Native culture is richly expressed in the Bella Coola valley, both through traditional dance and native art. There are small galleries showcasing local artists and carvers. A selection of these Bella Coola carvings are displayed in the Smithsonian Museum. Many arts and crafts are available for purchase. We arrange tours with the Petroglyph Gallery and you will be accompanied by a local, first nations guide. Natural Hot Springs and Giant Cedar Trees Natural hot springs are situated on the coast of Bentinck Arm inlet, providing a unique setting in which to relax and soak.
