Reasons to Visit Tweedsmuir Park Lodge
Location and Accessibility
It’s easy to get here. You could be experiencing all that Bella Coola and Tweedsmuir Park Lodge have to offer just one hour and fifteen minutes from Vancouver. Shorter travel time means you can spend more time outdoors, breathing in the clean alpine air. Imagine waking up in Vancouver and just hours later, you are floating down a river in Tweedsmuir Park: fishing, enjoying the pristine scenery or photographing grizzly bears up close.
The historic Tweedsmuir Park Lodge is nestled on 60 acres of private wilderness land within Tweedsmuir Provincial Park, the largest protected park in British Columbia. It is 63 kilometres by road, from the Bella Coola Harbour and boarders the dry Chilcotin Plateau. Tweedsmuir Park Lodge has exquisite views and is situated near the base of an 8,000 foot rock peak, the aptly named Mt. Stupendous. There is 400 meters of frontage on the Atnarko River which is just steps away. The First Nations name for the area was "Stooick" which translates as 'nice place to rest'.
